    Where to get battery straps?

I put a new battery in and my old straps that are 14 1/2" are too long by a few inches. Any recommendations where I could pick some up?

What ski would they be for? I have a bunch of different sizes. Are they screwed down on one side or are both metal rectangles? You could always make a cheap spacer to put on top or bottom of the battery to fill the space.

I save Styrofoam from packages I receive to reuse when I ship parts - I cut a rectangle to fit top of battery and put straps over it.

They're for a '90 superjet and have the metal rectangular hooks. I may put some 2x4's under it as a spacer but was thinking spending ~$10 on the right size would be the better option.

You wouldnt want to space up from under it anyway. That would put the battery up above the box leaving the bottom to slide around. With something on top it keeps the straps tight and the bottom in the tray.

I sent you a pm. I need about 10" straps with rectangular hooks to fit properly. If not, I'll just rig something up

Re: Where to get battery straps?

I was just in this same thing. My seadoo GSX strap is 13.5" long, and since the newer batteries are shorter by 3/4" i needed a strap that is 1.5" shorter, so i took one out of my Ultra and measured exact 12" length that i needed, and fit perfect in the Seadoo. If your original is 14.5" then id say you need a 13"... Did you guess at the 10" length? because that sounds waaay short

I also tried shimming from underneath, and Myself is correct it elevates the battery out of the tray and that isnt good

I've just tied a knot when necessary, worked fine.

The problem with normal is that it just keeps getting worse...

I would rather sit than quit...
